Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 24, 2026
Welcome to ThermaMetric ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles information when you use our services.
1. Information Collection and Use
ThermaMetric is a utility application designed to monitor your device's thermal performance. To provide this functionality, the app accesses the following information:
- Hardware Sensor Data: The app reads data from your device's internal thermal sensors (CPU, GPU, Battery, SoC, and Ambient temperature) to display real-time metrics.
- Battery Information: We monitor battery temperature and status to provide thermal health insights.
- Device Information: Basic hardware specifications may be read locally to identify available thermal zones on your device.
2. Data Storage
Everything stays on your device.
- Local Database: Historical temperature readings are stored in a local database (Room) on your device's internal storage.
- Preferences: Your app settings (e.g., alert thresholds, units) are stored locally using Android DataStore.
- No Cloud Sync: We do not upload, transmit, or sync your thermal data or history to any external servers or cloud services.
3. Permissions
To function correctly, ThermaMetric requires the following permissions:
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To send you alerts when your device exceeds temperature thresholds.
- Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): To maintain accurate real-time monitoring even when the app is in the background.
- Run at Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To resume thermal monitoring services after you restart your device (if enabled in settings).
- Vibration (VIBRATE): To provide haptic feedback during critical thermal alerts.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party components:
- Google Play Services: Used for app distribution and updates. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase: We may use Firebase for basic app performance monitoring or crash reporting (if integrated) to improve app stability. These services do not collect personally identifiable information from your device sensors.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored locally, you have full control over it:
- You can clear your history within the app settings.
- Uninstalling the application will automatically delete all locally stored data and history.
6. Security
We value your trust in providing us with access to device metrics. However, remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We utilize standard Android security best practices to protect the data stored on your device.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
